In a conversation with American journalists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv and Moscow were closer to a peace agreement. The republic will join the European Union and adopt a “non-nuclear, non-bloc, neutral status.”
According to Zelensky, these conditions will be approved at the “level of the leaders of the countries.” The head of the republic specified that security guarantees would become an important part of the agreements. Several states will support Ukraine in various ways if it fulfills certain security conditions, which will be specified specifically.
Ukraine has become more realistic about the topic of negotiations with Russia, but the draft agreement is not yet ready “for submission to the meeting at the top”. This was stated after another meeting with representatives of Kyiv, the head of the Russian delegation at the talks, aide to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.
