Tommy Lee Sparta Praised Vybz Kartel While Ripping Alkaline At Ghetto Splash

Tommy Lee Sparta and Alkaline will not be making peace anytime soon.

The “Uncle Demon” deejay put on a show for his fans at last weekend’s annual Ghetto Splash in Kingston. His set was well received and he even called out JOP/4th Genna deejay Deablo to join him on stage. Tommy Lee Sparta used a part of his performance to lay waste to Alkaline while praising his former mentor Vybz Kartel, despite his rocky relationship with the former Portmore Empire boss.

“Big up every artist in the industry,” Tommy Lee said. “But yo have some bwoy now a days them forced ripe and feel like them bigger than music. All who know say Worl’Boss work hard for it me want to see the hands them. Some bwoy just… yo have some people them just want to give some boy the Worl’Boss legacy and act like Worl’Boss never do nothing, but a long time the Worl’Boss a do it.”

Tommy Lee Sparta’s statement comes only a few months after Vybz Kartel once again reminded his fans that Lee and Popcaan are disloyal former members of his Gazanation crew. While that statement resonate with fans, that is not stopping Sparta and Popcaan from still shouting-out Kartel every chance they get.

Vybz Kartel Hints At Upcoming Project With 50 Cent’s “Power”

Vybz Kartel fuels rumors about some upcoming work with 50 Cent’s Power.

Its been a phenomenal years once again for Kartel in dancehall despite his incarceration. The self proclaimed Worl’Boss has been dominating the airwaves this year with a flurry of new music. This month alone he is dropping five new singles, he recently announced. Last weekend he posted some images from the Power poster on his Instagram while hinting that there are things happening behind the scenes between himself and the producers of the hit TV show.

Sources inside Kartel’s circle told Dancehall HipHop that he was tapped for a guest feature on the soundtrack for the upcoming season of Power. “I can’t divulge too much of what is happening behind the scenes but we might be doing some work with Power for the soundtrack,” sources told us. We’re also told that Kartel is working on an upcoming album due next year.

The “Mhm Hm” deejay is currently in prison on a life sentence, but next year July he will have a chance to secure his freedom when his appeal trial is set to get underway. Despite being behind bars since 2011, Vybz Kartel found a way to stay even more relevant than most other dancehall artists who are currently active.

RELATED: Fans Crown Vybz Kartel The King of Dancehall

Vybz Kartel has been giving fans an average of two songs per week since around the end of August, while other artists like Mavado, Popcaan, and Alkaline have been releasing one or two songs per quarter. So is this too much music for the airwaves all at once from the Worl’Boss. Our Gazanation sources told us that is not the case since Vybz Kartel has been known to drop a lot of music in a short space of time.

“This is not too much music and if anything its the fans who are benefiting, they are the ones we are doing this for,” sources said. “Addi (Vybz Kartel) is the hardest working artist in dancehall so some other lazy artists shouldn’t complain when the boss a drop them week in week out.”

Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for murder and it’s illegal for him to be recording music in prison.

Vybz Kartel Previews Two New Raunchy Singles Coming Soon

Vybz Kartel previews two new raunchy singles for the Christmas holiday.

The Gazanation boss teased the upcoming singles, “My Boo” and “Watch Over Us,” on his Instagram last night. The songs were produced by TJ Records and could arrive as early as this weekend, sources told us. “LIKE I SAID!!!…GAZAGURLZ LETS PARTY TOGETHER THIS CHRISTMAS.WANNA BE MY BOO? COMING SOON,” Kartel wrote. We’re told that the singles could arrive as early as tomorrow night.

“Think of these two tracks as a Christmas treat for the ladies from the Worl’Boss,” sources said. “TJ [Records] had these tracks in the vault for a little while and we think its the right time to release them. The single “My Boo” is a bit of a dancehall love song that will showcase Kartel’s versatility. You will find that The Teacha won’t come with the same style and flow with every song, it’s always something different.”

Since around August, Vybz Kartel has been dropping an average of two songs per week and is showing no signs of slowing down. This week he already released one song and could drop two more by tomorrow. Despite being behind bars since 2011, Kartel seems like he is the hardest working artist in dancehall currently.

Vybz Kartel Dropping New Single “All Aboard” On Friday

Vybz Kartel is far from being done dropping new music. The aced dancehall star will be dropping a new song “All Aboard” this Friday.

Kartel has been dropping around two songs a week since around the end of August and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Our Gaza sources told us that a major project is on the way but in the meantime, fans can enjoy a regular supply of new singles. “We are working on a big project, some big, much bigger than any previous album Worl’Boss release,” sources said. “Look out for a new banger this Friday on premiere on Irie FM.”

The incarcerated deejay also announced the new single “All Aboard” on his Instagram page. The track was produced by TJ Records, who is also the producer behind his new project. The track will be premiered by DJ Wayne on Irie FM on Friday afternoon. “LISTEN NOW.. You either ON the boat with the ballers n b**ches… or you UNder the boat with the sharks n fishes! #Dj Wayne premier this Friday on #IRIEFM ALL ABOARD ALL ABOARD,” Vybz Kartel wrote.

Alkaline Vs Vybz Kartel: Who Is The Real “1 Don” ?

Alkaline and Vybz Kartel are the two top rivals in dancehall currently and lately they are both fighting over the “1 Don” moniker.

Over the past few years, Alkaline has called himself other monikers like Young Lawd and Torch, while Vybz Kartel called himself The Teacher and Worl’Boss. Now both deejays are referring to themselves as the 1 Don of dancehall. The term one done means that you are the top artist in the genre currently and fans of both sides will say that their artist is the leading act.

Vybz Kartel released a new single “Don’t Come Back” last week where he deejays about being the only one done in dancehall. “One don one don that’s me / Kartel, Worl’ Boss or Teach / Run street whether black or bleach / Or if me say be my first G / Me stop tell girls ’bout faithful / ‘Cause they will do what they want / But since we broke up, I’m so strong,” Kartel deejay. The last two lines are believed to be a shot at his baby mama.

Alkaline then posted a photo of himself in the studio on Instagram over the weekend which he captioned “1 Don.”

Since the start of the year, both Alkaline and Vybz Kartel have released diss tracks against each other but not on the level of the Gully/Gaza feud of the mid-2000s. Kartel’s camp has also been very vocal about Alkaline imitating some of the deejay’s style and using shock-value to gain more notoriety like skin bleaching, controversial lyrics, and the infamous eyeball tattoo which turns out to be fake.

Since breaking onto the scene in 2013, Alkaline has made a name for himself in dancehall with a vast catalog of hit songs. Although his musical catalog is nowhere near as large of Vybz Kartel’s, Alkaline name often arrives in conversation with other top dancehall acts like Vybz Kartel, Mavado, and Popcaan.

NotNice Talks Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and New Alkaline Diss Track

NotNice has a lot to say about Vybz Kartel and Popcaan, as well as, his new artists recording a new Alkaline diss track.

NotNice was close friends with Vybz Kartel at one point but since their fallout in 2011, the two have not spoken to each other. The producer even said in an interview in 2014 that he will never forgive Kartel for sending his goons to take away his engineering equipment from his home studio. Speaking with Anthony Miller of ER, NotNice briefly spoke about his life after the Worl’Boss.

“It’s not like it didn’t work out with Kartel, you know Kartel have him ways and it just happened and then him end up where him ended up (prison),” NotNice said. When asked about the seized equipment he said he has more now. NotNice later produced hit songs for Alkaline before aligning himself with Popcaan whom he produced a number of hits for in recent years. According to the producer, Alkaline was the one who diss Popcaan but the Unruly boss chose to not respond. Now NotNice has a new artist, JaFrass, who is voicing an Alkaline diss record.

“JaFrass just decide that he is going to defend it,” the producer said. NotNice also spoke about critics saying that he has lost his touch.

Chronixx Says Vybz Kartel “Did A Lot Less Than He Could”

Chronixx is weighing in on his feelings towards Vybz Kartel telling his fans that the incarcerated deejay did “a lot less than he could.”

The reggae singer released his highly anticipated new album Chronology last weekend and the wait was worth it. To celebrate the release, Chronixx took part in a lengthy Instagram Live sessions last weekend where he spoke about a handful of artists he would collaborate with. One of the takeaways from the IG Live session was his thoughts about Vybz Kartel and this is what he had to say.

“Big up Worl’Boss you done know that the worst thing you can do is fight another artist, that is the most degrading thing,” Chronixx said. “You can talk the truth and you can say what you like and dislike but don’t fight the artist. Vybz Kartel is a very devote artist in my opinion he did a lot less than he could and let me not put too much pressure on the man but you done know, great artist of our time. He is a man who fully dedicates himself to being an artist so big up all the Gaza people them in the house. We a say Kartel long before Gaza because a Spanish Town we come from and anybody who a talk bout Kartel we a say Kartel from even before Portmore Empire.”

Chronixx raised a few eyebrows when he revealed during his IG Live session that he would not collaborate with Alkaline although he is a fan of some of his music. The “Chronology” singer previously get some heat for some past statements about Vybz Kartel calling him a cannibal, but this time he was careful not to anger the massive Gazanation fan base. Do you think that Chronixx and Vybz Kartel should collaborate on new music? Sound off in comments below.
