Despite getting mixed reviews among hip hop fans, the album is project to move 60,000 plus album equivalent units in the first week and could debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Roughly around 10,000 to 13,000 of those sales will be from traditional album sales. While these numbers are nothing to brag about, we should also bare in mind that we are living in a singles driven era where album sales are on the decline and music consumers are mostly streaming the songs that they like.
Another hip hop album released this week that’s worth noting is Quality Control’s compilation project Control The Streets, Vol. 1. The album is expected to move close to the same numbers that Big Sean and Metro Boomin is expected to move. The album is expected to move 55,000 to 60,000 copies with 5,000 plus of those being traditional album sales.
Earlier this year, Big Sean scores a Billboard 200 number one album when he released I Decided. The project sold 151,000 copies in the first week and has since been certified platinum. The official sale figures for these new projects will be made available next weekend, but so far these are mere projections and the final count could be higher or a lot less.
Both Sean Don and Metro Boomin surprised fans a weeks ago when they abruptly announced that they will be dropping a joint album. Earlier this week, they made another announcement that it will arrive on Friday and they made good on their promise. The 10-track LP saw guest appearances from 2 Chainz, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Swae Lee, and Kash Doll. The Detroit rapper got roasted on Twitter yesterday for a few lines on one of the single where he raps about smoking a blunt with civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

Lil Peep cause of death reveals that he was overdosed on Xanax and fentanyl.
The rising SoundCloud rapper died on November 15th in Tucson Arizona while in the city for a concert. According to the police report, he was discovered on his tour bus unresponsive. Initial reports alleged that he took some fake Xanax before passing out and that might have contributed to his death. TMZ revealed some excerpts from the Pima County Medical Examiner showing that he died from a “combined toxic effects of fentanyl and alprazolam.” The latter is the generic form of Xanax which is used to treat anxiety.
While those were the two main drug found in his system, the medical examiner detected a bunch of other drugs including cocaine, marijuana, and Tramadol, which is a pain killer, were all detected in his blood test. Additionally, his urine was tested positive for Oxymorphone, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Hydrocodone, and Oxycodone, along with all the drugs previously mentioned. On top of that, he was tested positive for alcohol.
His death was ruled accidental by the medical examiner. Lil Peep was age 21 at the time of his death. The rapper’s sudden passing triggered a debate about drug addiction among celebrities, particularly young rapper’s who often rap about sipping lean and taking pills.
Lil Peep, born Gustav Åhr, is best known for his single “Benz Truck.” He has been known to mix elements of rock with rap music to create his signature sound. Since breaking onto the scene in 2015, he has released three mixtapes and in August of this year he released his debut album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1. He was on tour promoting the album at the time of his death. A memorial service was recently held in Long Beach, New York, where he is from.

Big Sean has finally responded to Kendrick Lamar’s diss record “The Heart Part 4.” The G.O.O.D. Music rapper delivered his joint album with Metro Boomin, Double or Nothing, on Friday. The album has received mixed reviews among hip hop fans, but perhaps one of the biggest takeaways on the project is Big Sean jab at Kendrick Lamar. K-Dot unleashed a lyrical firestorm against BS in March of this year where he called him his son and a punk ass.
“”My fans can’t wait for me to son your punk ass and crush your whole lil sh*t, I’ll Big Pun your punk ass you a scared lil b*tch, Tip-toeing around my name n***a you lame,” the Compton rapper raps. At the time of its released, the song surprised a lot of hip hop fans who wasn’t sure who he was referring to. In case your still among those who are still in doubt, now you know for sure that K-Dot went directly after Sean Don ripping him while threatening to take down his career.
On the album, Double or Nothing, Big Sean has a song “Big Bidness” featuring 2 Chainz where he finally responded to Kendrick Lamar. “Nobody sonning me, If am a sun, I’m the one you look up to F**k you,” Sean raps. Sean Don previously took a jab at the “HUMBLE” rapper on DJ Khaled’s single “Holy Key” giving fans a hint of his feelings towards his rival.
Double or Nothing is out now and you can stream it on Apple Music and Spotify. The album features some big names including Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Swae Lee. While the vast majority of his fans have the project the thumbs up, Big Sean has been getting roasted on Twitter for a few lines that some folks thinks are either unacceptible or corny.

Did the CIA assassinate Bob Marley?
The reggae legend died in May 1981 and his official cause of death is cancer. Since his untimely death, there have been a number of conspiracies surrounding what or whom may have played a role in the ending of his life. One such conspiracy is that the CIA has something to do with his death bu infiltrating his circle in the late 1970s and ultimately did something to end his life in 1981.
This week, a story popped up online claiming that a 79-year-old retired CIA agent name Bill Oxley confessed on his deathbed that he killed the reggae icon. We will not link to the article as to not give it any more attention than this. While on his deathbed at the Mercy Hospital in Maine earlier this week, Oxley made a number of confessions, allegedly, including that he committed some 17 assassinations while working as a CIA agent including the assassinations of one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Oxley claimed that he infiltrated Bob Marley’s inner circle using press credentials to gain access to the singer during his Blue Mountains retreat. He posed as a famous photographer working for the New York Times and told Marley that he has a gift for him. “I gave him a pair of Converse All Stars,” Oxley said. “Size 10. When he tried on the right shoe, he screamed out ‘OUUUCH.‘ That was it. His life was over right there and then. The nail in the shoe was tainted with cancer viruses and bacteria. If it pierced his skin, which it did, it was goodnight nurse.”
The site that published the story is a well known satirical site and they did not provide any sourcing for the lengthy article. Nevertheless, a number of celebrities and reggae fans shared the story on social media not known it’s potentially fake news.
Bob Marley Museum declined to comment on the story, but a close family source told Dancehall HipHop that the Marley family believes that the story is bogus. “No one believes the story and neither do they want this kind of bad publicity so that explains why they are not saying anything about it,” sources told us. “By speaking on it you give the story more life so they decide to just let it go.”

It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.”

Just yesterday, the rapper revealed that he handed out over 300 pairs of an unreleased Jordan Retro 11s to kids in the city. “Today @Google funded coding classes for 20 schools on the south and west sides. God bless everyone involved. Thank you,” Chance the Rapper tweeted. The company donated an additional $500,00 towards Chicago Public Schools’ CS4ALL initiative. Google released a statement confirming the sizeable donation saying its a part of the company’s initiative to bring more students into the computer science fold.
“The grant will help teachers implement computer science and arts curriculum in their classrooms, and it builds on $40 million in Google.org grants that provide opportunities for students underrepresented in computer science to explore the field,” the statement reads. Justin Cunningham, the executive director of SocialWorks, also released a statement about the donation from Google.
“Our grant with Google.org helps SocialWorks provide programming that sheds light on another pathway to success for young Chicagoans,” Cunningham said. “While every student doesn’t need to become a computer scientist, understanding the basics empowers them to understand the world they live in. The opportunity to help kids code to share their music, artwork, and distinct point of view is at the core of our mission and an experience we look forward to providing in classrooms across the city.”
This is the second million dollar donation that Chance the Rapper received for his organizations. Last month, he got another million from Jewel-Osco that will goes towards his New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund.

The Atlanta rap trio previewed a Joe Budden diss track on Twitter on Wednesday that ignites a firestorm including a response from Joe Budden. Who can forget Migos and Budden’s tense confrontation at the BET Awards pre-show in June. The Slaughterhouse rapper was partaking in an interview with the group when things quickly went south. Eventually, security manages to separate them before it went into an all-out brawl.
Migos hasn’t forgotten and is about to let their feelings be known in an upcoming track, due on Friday. The rap group shared a preview of the song on Instagram today. In the short clip, you can hear Quavo name-dropping the veteran rapper while indicating that he is ready for war. “Ice tray a n***a floodin’, ice, ice, ice / If a n***a hatin’ call him Joe Budden (pu**y!!) / Coupe outside and its press button / Fa**** ni*** mad cuz your b**ch f***ing / f*** it ice trader gang,” Quavo raps over a trap beat.
Joe Budden already took notice of the potential diss and responded on Twitter. “Quavo want smoke ? Lol,” the Everyday Struggle co-host tweeted. “Soon as it’s all peace he decides to unleash this lyrical venom in my direction… that’s crazy smh. @QuavoStuntin i am your OG & you will respect me as such.” This response indicates that Budden might be planning to dust off his mic and lay down a response in the studio. Let’s hope these guys keep this beef in the studio. Last year, the “Pump It Up” rapper fired off a series of diss tracks aimed at Drake, but the Toronto rapper never bite. In one of his diss records, he also took shots at JAY-Z and Meek Mill.

Lil Pump is already a millionaire at 17 years old.
The “Gucci Gang” rapper is perhaps one of the biggest success stories in hip-hop this year proving that any struggling rapper or singer can achieve their dreams if given a chance to shine. Regardless if you disagree with his music or, you have to agree that his achievement this year is inspirational. Only a few months ago, Lil Pump was still a struggling rapper on SoundCloud and now he smashes through the mainstream barrier before the year even ended.
Thanks to his record contract, Pump can now accord to buy a lot more Gucci kicks. TMZ reported that he received a check for $345,000 for his debut album advance from Warner Bros. and that doesn’t include the 15 percent royalties that he will be getting. His royalties could be a big payday for him too judging from the huge success of his singles “D Rose,” “Boss,” and “Gucci Gang.” He will be getting a similar advance for his second and third album and by the time he gets to his fifth project, he could be getting as much as $500,000 per album plus royalties. Still, he will need to meed some criteria like dropping at least 14 tracks per album.
On top of that, Lil Pump is also making big bucks from merchandise sales and touring and with his fast-growing fan base his merchandise is selling out fast. Pump currently has the number four song on Billboard Hot 100, “Gucci Gang” which earned him the record for the shortest song ever to grace the top ten on the Hot 100 chart.
Lil Pump is currently working on a joint album with Lil Yachty due sometime soon. At 17, he is not doing too bad and next year could see his career balloon to new heights if he continues to make hit records.

The rapper and the producer only announced the joint album last week and on Tuesday they announced that it’s coming on December 8th, which means on Thursday night just before midnight you will be able to stream it online. This year has been huge for hip hop music and we got a lot of collaborative efforts with Metro Boomin proving that producers are winning too. The St. Louis producer dropped collaborative albums Without Warning with 21 Savage and DropTopWop with Gucci Mane.
Now he is closing out the year on a high with Double or Nothing with Big Sean which is only a few days away. Big Sean and Metro Boomin both had a phenomenal year but perhaps they wisely didn’t want to butt heads with Eminem who is dropping his album Revival on December 15, just a week after they decided to drop their project.
They also posted the cover art for the album which showcases a photo of both artists all blacked out except for their jewelry. A preview of the album could be posted on social media today or tonight, which will give fans a taste of what’s to come.

Rapper Phresher says his collaboration with Eminem on Revival is “raw as f**k.”
Slim Shady revealed the official tracklist for his new album on Tuesday and the internet nearly went nuts trying to decipher every track title and every guest feature. Phresher, who is an up-and-coming rapper, is the only rap artist to get a feature on the project, the rest of the guest list is made up of pop and R&B artists like Ed Sheeran, Pink, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys.
Eminem is one of those rare artists who can get whoever they want on a song or on an album, he has worked with the biggest of the biggest, and move massive numbers when it comes to music sales. So why would he seek out a guest verse from a no name rapper? Phresher, who is featured on Em’s song “Chloraseptic,” spoke with Complex yesterday where he revealed that Eminem reached out to him after hearing his track “Wait A Minute.” He said the rap titan then flew to New York to meet with him where they spent eight hours recording a new track.
“Yeah, it’s raw as f**k, man,” he said. “The emotions is just turnt up. It’s a turnt up record. It’s raw. That’s the perfect word for it. Eminem going off. The hook is just [crazy]. We going off. It’s at your throat like Chloraseptic. The record is about just spitting, man. Just going off, you get what I’m saying? Just cutthroat, at your throat music. Like, I’m on you, you know what I’m saying? Real right-at-you music. It’s just awesome, man. Eminem went crazy on it.”
Phresher also revealed that the producer behind the single is Denaun Porter and he recorded his portion of the song on the spot. Eminem new album Revival arrives on December 15.

Vybz Kartel announced that he is dropping five new singles in December.
The incarcerated deejay has released over twenty new singles since the start of the fall and is closing out the year on a high note with at least five new tracks coming this month. Kartel updated his Instagram bio over the weekend where he named five songs coming this month, one of which was released over the weekend, “Christmas Fck.” The other four tracks will title “Flintstone (Yabba Dabba Doo),” “Make-Up Sex,” “Marathon,” and “My Boo.”
Two more singles will be released on Friday of this week, sources inside the Gazanation told us. “It’s going to be a crazy December, we doing it for the fans as a Christmas gift,” sources told Dancehall HipHop. “We making at least five drops and you will hear that at every Christmas party. We have some more surprises for the Gazanation fans them so stay tuned, we will be dropping something huge soon.”
Vybz Kartel has been giving fans an average of two songs per week since around the end of August, while other artists like Mavado, Popcaan, and Alkaline have been releasing one or two songs per quarter. So is this too much music for the airwaves all at once from the Worl’Boss. Our Gazanation sources told us that is not the case since Vybz Kartel has been known to drop a lot of music in a short space of time.
“This is not too much music and if anything its the fans who are benefiting, they are the ones we are doing this for,” sources said. “Addi (Vybz Kartel) is the hardest working artist in dancehall so some other lazy artists shouldn’t complain when the boss a drop them week in week out.”
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for murder and it’s illegal for him to be recording music in prison.

Minister of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange, has issued a statement congratulating the reggae/dancehall deejay for the win. In her statement, she describes the artist as an outstanding member of the talented musical family, the Marleys. “[He] is on a roll, having just been nominated in the Best Reggae Album category of the Grammy Awards, and now winning the MOBO Award. It really feels special to say back-to-back congratulations to him,” the minister said.
Minister Grange also acknowledges artists like Alkaline, Popcaan, Aidonia, and Chronixx, who were all nominated in the category of Best Reggae Act. She said that all those artists are worthy of the award but ultimately there can only be one winner. Damian Marley and Chronixx are also both nominated in the Best Reggae Album category at the upcoming 60th annual Grammy Awards. They sounded more cohesive — better as a whole.”
Big Sean says that he will be tackling a number of topics on this album including racial inequalities and police violence. “I believe music is a way of getting away from things,” the Detroit spitter said, “but it was heavy on my heart, and I felt the need to talk about it.” The first sign that the two would be teaming up for a joint album came from the new single “Pull Up N Wreck” featuring Big Sean, Metro Boomin, and 21 Savage. Hov has been a staunched critic of the justice system since the MMG rapper was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for probation violation. The Roc Nation boss supported the #FreeMeekMill movement during the Philly leg of his “4:44 Tour” by playing the rapper’s hit single “Dreams & Nightmares” during his set. He leads the crowd on a “Free Meek Mill” chant. The rap legend also penned an op-ed in the New York Times last month throwing his support behind Meek, while calling out the justice system for its mass incarceration of young black men.
Some Philadelphia 76ers players including Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were at the concert showing their support for Meek Mill. The due wore T-Shirts that says “STAND WITH MEEK MILL.” The fans on Meek’s home turf poured in their numbers to fill up the arena for a sold-out crowd. JAY-Z also showed his support to Colin Kaepernick by wearing his jersey at the sold-out show. R&B singer Trey Songz and rapper Yo Gotti were also showed up to show his support and was also spotted at the after party.
“That sh*t [Kaepernick’s protest] is not about inanimate objects,” Hov said. “It’s about people dying. It’s about young people leaving their house and never coming back home. And it’s not a black and white issue. It’s a human issue. Everybody should be fighting that.”
Meek Mill, real name Robert Williams, is currently awaiting the outcome of his emergency bail application. The Pennsylvania Superior Court handed down a ruling last month directing Judge Genece Brinkley to make a ruling on the rapper’s bail. She is the same judge who handed down the unjust sentencing after she claimed that the rapper broke his probation by getting arrested earlier this year for breaking up a fight and popping wheelies in the streets of New York.

Someone is either out to take revenge on Tyga or he is just plain unlucky.
The Compton rapper’s Last Kings store in Los Angeles was burglarized over the weekend and the thieves made of with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, TMZ reported. According the police report, someone or someones broke into the store late Friday night into early Saturday morning. It was a store employee who discovered the breaking and called cops.
The intruders have yet to be identified and investigators say they forced their way into the store front and made off with items of clothing. The total value of the stolen items are not known, but sources say it could be in the thousands. Last year, Tyga was slapped with a lawsuit from the landlord of the building where the store is located. The suit was filed after the landlord send the rapper a bill for $75,000 worth of damages to the premises. The plaintiff argued in the suit that the building was left abandoned and in bad shape.
Tyga responded to the lawsuit arguing that he could not be held responsible for any damages because the building was not up to code and there were several other issues wrong with the building. The “Ayo” rapper was also slapped with a lawsuit from a former business partner, Chuon Gen Lee, who said in his legal docs that Tyga stole the Last Kings brand from him and then kicked him to the curb. He also accused the rapper of not honoring an agreement to setup the company in both their names. She asked for $1.6 million in her lawsuit and Tyga has yet to pay the debt so that amount has since risen to over $2 million.
