Vybz Kartel Says Alkaline Owes Him Money “Time To Pay Up”
Vybz Kartel wants Alkaline to pay up all the money he owed for borrowing his style.
Kartel made the strong statement in his new song “Kremlin” produced by Rvssian. Both rival deejays released new music over the weekend and fans of both sides of the divide are weighing on which one is better. In the incarcerated deejay’s new single “Kremlin,” he took shots at Alkaline in a few lines. “Who borrow me style fi know say dem owe me pon the loan / We a mega star, so everything we do it haffi show,” Kartel deejay over the Moscow Riddim.
Alkaline has been criticized for the past few years for stealing Vybz Kartel’s style. The Vendetta deejay denied the allegations and his fans have been pushing back while also accusing the Gazanation boss of being envious of Alka’s rise in dancehall. “We all know that the blind boy thief Addi style and can’t come out with a new song unless he is copying someone style,” one fan wrote.
“As a non Vendetta or Gaza fan,” one fan wrote. “A non biased ear can’t help but to be honest that Alkaline stop following Kartel and find his own cadence and flow since his last album and a whole bunch of singles. I respect Vybz Kartel but fans use the days of him following Kartel to this day to ignorantly discredit his talent. On the other hand he had to do what he had to do because of you the same fans who make it hard for any artist to catch your attention and to show their talent without some copying or controversy.”
Vybz Kartel drops two music videos last weekend, “Don’t Come Back” and “Mhm Hm.” Alkaline released a new single “Suave” that quickly became the number one trending dancehall song on YouTube.

Vybz Kartel and Cardi B dropping a new collaboration, producer Rvssian confirmed.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for the famed producer but seems that was not all she did in reggae land. There were some rumors floating around claiming that she visited Vybz Kartel in prison, but sources told us that did not happen. Instead, she spends some time at GeeJam villa where there is a studio and record some new music.
Over the weekend, Cardi B wrote on Instagram that Vybz Kartel is her favorite artist of all time. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. She didn’t mention the new collaborative single, but what artist don’t want to work with their idol.
Rvssian and Vybz Kartel are again working on new music. Last week the longtime collaborators released the new hit single “Kremlin” featured on the producer’s new project, Moscow Riddim. The incarcerated deejay has cranked up the dial in the past two months by releasing a flurry of new singles including “Mhm Hm,” “Don’t Come Back,” and “Kremlin.”
