Beenie Man and the rest of the Davis family are breathing a sigh of release after his son Moses Jr. was released from the hospital.
The King of the Dancehall, Beenie Man, shared some grave news last Friday, November 20, that his son Moses Jr had been hospitalized due to complications with sickle cell disease. In a good turn of events, Moses Jr. was discharged from the hospital yesterday, Saturday, November 21.
It seems all the prayers and positive intentions worked, and Moses Jr. was quick to thank his fans for the outpouring of love. He issued the following statement expressing his gratitude to his fans and loved ones for being at his side during his harrowing time in hospital.
“Hi everybody, I have over maybe 2,000 messages so I cannot get back to everybody right now. But good news, I am being discharged from the hospital, getting sent home with meds. So, thank you everybody for the well wishes, thank you everybody for the messages, thank you for the calls from everybody that was worried about me. I am fine, I am out and I will be OK.”
Beanie man previously issued a heartfelt post on the matter on Instagram, “Blessed love If I should really sum up 2020 mi really wouldn’t have the words, Iyah. Right now my son is in the hospital @1876prince. He suffers from the sickle cell disease. As a black man who suffers from the disease as well, I waan encourage the I dem fi gain some knowledge on it.”
This is very good news for Beenie, who has been having a very tough year as he lost his mother recently. The two shared a very close relationship.

Beenie Man and D’Angel put their differences aside to come together and celebrate their son Marco Dean’s 14th birthday.
It’s pretty common knowledge that Beenie Man and D’Angel don’t often see eye to eye, but the pair were able to put their differences aside recently to celebrate their son Marco’s birthday. Marco turned 14-years-old on Monday, November 9, and his parents got together to show him some love in a lavish celebration with friends and family at the Spanish Court Hotel, New Kingston.
A video of the celebration was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, November 10. Before the celebration, both D’Angel and Beenie Man used their Instagram accounts to wish their young son a happy birthday.

It seems they tried to bring together some of Marco’s siblings as well for the festivities. Moses Jr, Mosiah, Ikyra, and Desha Ravers were all seen in the video having a good time. In the video, Marco is led to the party room, where he is warmly greeted by some of his siblings. After finishing dinner, he’s presented with a birthday cake, and Beenie Man leads the chorus singing happy birthday. They end the night with some eclectic dancing as the celebrations continued. Marco was all smiles throughout the night, an indicator that he had a great time.
The dancehall legend did an interview with Winford Williams on OnStage last weekend where he spoke about Spice crowning herself the new queen of dancehall. “Well the queen of dancehall baptized now,” Beenie said in reference to Lady Saw being baptized and is now a devote Christian. The deejay then said Spice will have to do as much work as Lady Saw did to elevate her status to the queen of the genre, but for now she is the designated queen.
Spice hit back at Beenie Man hard calling him “badmind” and even suggesting that Vybz Kartel is the real king of dancehall. “D Rasta man [Beenie Man] vex true mi say a Kartel a the king a dancehall,” Spice said. “Nothing is wrong with your sentence “The Queen got baptized” we all know that, but you also do know that the king is incarcerated right.”
In his defense, Beenie Man said in a video clip posted on Instagram that he didn’t said anything negative in his statement. “What I heard about Spice saying this about my interview and I heard about what her fans have to say,” the Doc said. “I have to wonder, everybody have wifi but is not everybody wisdom listen to what am saying, when somebody say you’re the designated queen that means you get a post to be someone but you’re not voted for by the mass. When you become the queen elect then that means that you’re voted for by the mass and now all you need is a crown to put on your head to become that queen. Now if you get anything negative from that?”
