Rihanna’s new single “Lemon” with N.E.R.D. has earned her another Billboard milestone.
The Bajan pop star has already worked her way into then elite of music and fashion and now she is furthering her lead from the pack with another major musical achievement. Last month, N.E.R.D. released their new Rihanna-assisted single “Lemon” which has been steadily climbing the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track is now at No. 40 after jumping from 50 last week and thus earning RiRi her 50th top 40 song on the chart, Billboard reported.
Only seven other artists has more top 40 records than Rihanna, they are The Beatles, Glee Cast, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Elvis Presley. Rihanna just completed an impressive 100 weeks run on the Billboard 200 chart with her latest album ANTI. The project was released in January 2016 exclusively TIDAL before being released across all platforms and peaking at No. 1.
You can catch Rihanna live on stage at the 60th annual Grammy Awards where she will be performing “Wild Thoughts” with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller. That song was one of the biggest singles on the planet last year, peaking at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart.

Camila Cabello‘s self-titled debut album is now occupying the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
The singer created history when she becomes the first woman since Meghan Trainor in 2015 to have their debut album top the chart. Her album Camila sold 119,000 copies in the first week of release with 65,000 copies being pure album sales. Roughly 16,000 were track equivalent albums (SEA) and 38,000 were streaming equivalent albums (TEA). The R&B singer thanked her fans on social media on Sunday for supporting the album. “My album is number 1 on Billboard Hot 200 I’m crying on the street,” she tweeted.
The former Fifth Harmony singer was only projected to move around 90,000 copies of the album but she shattered those predictions and thus toppling The Greatest Showman album for the top spot on the most prestigious album chart in the world.
Elsewhere on the chart, Ed Sheeran blockbuster album ÷ (Divide) slips to No. 3 in front of Post Malone’s album Stoney which made some gains to the No. 4 spot. Taylor Swift’s Reputation rounds out the top five album on the chart. G-Eazy album The Beautiful & Damned is at No. 6, while Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN. and Eminem‘s Revival holding the No. 7 and 8 spots respectively. Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 and Lil Skies’ Life of a Dark Rose round out the top ten spots. Skies jump from number 23 to 10 this week after seeing a surge.

Every week, Billboard rank the top 200 albums in the United States based on a mix of metrics including track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and pure album sales. The site usually update the charts on Tuesdays each week, so tomorrow these updates movements will go live.
This week, the “Bartier Cardi” rapper became only the third artist in history to have their first three entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the top 10 simultaneously, the other two artists are The Beatles and Ashanti. Chris Brown posted on his Instagram yesterday that he and a bunch of other artists have achieved three songs in the top 10 on the chart simultaneously. Breezy clearly misunderstood the difference between having any three of your songs in the top ten at the same time and having your first three songs ever to enter the chart making it to the top ten at the same time.
Cardi B posted a response on Instagram clarifying her achievement for her detractors. “Yall say that I don’t know how to speak proper English, and I say that a lot of yall don’t know how to read,” she said. “Let me be clear! I did not make history for having three songs on the top 10 Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, that’s been done before, more than a few times! I made history for having my first threesongs ever to be entered on the charts hit the top 10 Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, and that has only been done three times.”
She ended her statement saying, “Respect my sh*t and let me live my best life in peace I just wanna be, I just wanna be, successful.” Cardi B’s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” was the most streamed single by a female artist last year and since the start of the year, the track is seeing a new surge in momentum, jumping two places on the Hot 100 chart this week to No. 10. Can she repeat the same level of success this year with her pending debut album?
Cardi B is dominating Billboard Hot 100 to kick off her New Year.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper became only the third artist in history and the first rapper to have their first three Billboard Hot 100 songs to chart in the top ten simultaneously. The only other two artists to achieve this are Ashanti and The Beatles, according to Billboard. Cardi B joined the elites among artists last year when her debut single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” topped the chart making her the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill in the late 1990s to top the chart with a solo record.
Now Cardi B is making more history for herself once again on the most recognized music chart on the planet, the Billboard Hot 100. Her song with G-Eazy and ASAP Rocky, “No Limit” jumps one place this week to No. 4, while Migos’ “MotorSport” with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj holds firm at No. 7 on the chart this week. That’s two singles in the top ten where she is a guest artist on, but her debut single “Bodak Yellow” saw some resurgence over the holidays and jumped two places from No. 12 to 10 on the chart.
“What a great way to start my Year.Thank you Lord,” Cardi B wrote on Instagram. “Only you and i know how much i pray to you. These last few weeks been too much for me but my Lord always find a way to uplift me .Thank you to my fans ,DJS ,Team for the support .Thanks to all the artist who featured me In these songs and thanks guys for showing my second single BARTIER CARDI some love I love you.”
It’s very much possible that she can achieve four songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 if her new single “Bartier Cardi” continues to gain momentum. The song made its debut on the chart at No. 14 and over the holidays it was a top trending song on some major streaming platforms. Further down on the chart, Cardi B can be found on another song “La Modelo” with latin singer Ozuna which entered the chart at No. 52. “LA MODELO HAS ALSO ENTER THE HOT 100 at number 52 .Thank you guys for the support this honestly one of my favorite songs .Thank you @ozunapr por darme la oportunidad,” Bardi wrote on Instagram.
What a great way to start my Year.Thank you Lord .Only you and i know how much i pray to you. These last few weeks been too much for me but my Lord always find a way to uplift me .Thank you to my fans ,DJS ,Team for the support .Thanks to all the artist who featured me I?n thesee songs and thanks guys for showing my second single BARTIER CARDI some love ???????????I love you
Bruno Mars has a new lawsuit on his hands over “Uptown Funk.”
The pop singer and Mark Ronson scored a massive hit with their collaborative single “Uptown Funk.” The single was released in 2014 and went on to become one of the biggest song on the planet that year and is still in heavy rotation on radios to date. The retro music video for “Uptown Funk” has already clocked close to three billion views on YouTube. But after making millions off the single, here comes a new lawsuit from a rap group who claim that they rip off their song, TMZ reported.
The Sequence claimed that Bruno Mars and Ronson ripped off their 1970s classic “Funk You Up” which created history in 1979 when it became the first rap son to reach the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In their suit, the female trio claim that “Uptown Funk” has “significant and substantially similar compositional elements.” They are asking for an unspecified sum in their suit.
This is the second lawsuit the two singers are facing in the last couple of months. Back in September of this year, Roger Troutman and Zapp filed legal docs claiming that Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson stole pieces of their song “More Bounce to the Ounce” which was released in 1980.
The song gave Cardi B a mega year in hip hop giving her a taste of mainstream success after dropping a few mixtapes. This summer she became the first female rapper to have a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a solo artist since Lauryn Hill did it in the 90s.
Last night she took the stage at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England to perform her chart topping single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and through her performance she had the crowd on its feet. Cardi B picked up two Grammy nominations after the single received nods for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
She is currently working on her debut album and has been teasing song of the singles on Instagram over the past few weeks. Check out the full video of Cardi B’s performance at the 2017 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards below.
Eminem highly anticipated new album Revival has a new release date and it could arrive in December.
There has been a lot of rumors surrounding the release of Eminem’s new album Revival over the last couple of weeks. The original release date was November 17th, but the project never arrived on that date. According to HITS Daily Double, the new release date for Revival is December 8th. There has been a lot of mystery surrounding the album since we became aware of it.
So far the only concrete details we have is the title, Revival, and the first single “Walk On Water” featuring Beyonce. That single debut at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last week. There has also been some mysterious medication ads floating around online. Eminem himself has been mummed about the project except to say that it was executive produced by Rick Rubin and has contributions from Dr. Dre.
Revival is the followup to his 2013 album he Marshall Mathers LP 2 which has been certified four times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Eminem’s return to rap music became imminent when he appeared on BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher with a stinging freestyle against President Trump. He then followed that up with his Beyonce-assisted single “Walk On Water” which features Slim Shady rapping over a piano-laden beat.
Eminem appeared on Saturday Night Live last weekend where fans were expecting him to perform two new singles from the album, but instead he performed a medley of his new single “Walk On Water,” and two previously released songs “Stan,” and “Love the Way You Lie” with Skylar Grey. The Detroit rap legend is once again looking to dominate hip hop airwaves with his new project. December 8th is less than two weeks away so get ready. Will you get a copy of Eminem new album Revival?
The Young Money femcee drops a video clip on Instagram last night of herself and Lil Uzi Vert hanging out on set. Earlier this month, the pair drop the remix for “The Way Life Goes” and that track has since become Nicki’s 82nd Billboard Hot 100 entries. “This dat Nicki. This dat UZI. Who’s ready for the video?” she wrote. “This just became my 82nd Billboard Hot 100 Entry. Thank you guys so much. #TheWayLifeGoesREMIX #Motorsport was my 81st. Barbie working but u ain’t seen nuffin yet!”
Nicki Minaj was also high as sh** and she made sure that she pointed that out before anyone started judging her. “Congratulations, we high as sh*t,” she said. “We feelin’ really good right now. We on the set of the video. It’s just a pleasure to work with him.” Nicki added that Lil Uzi Vert reminds him of his label boss, the man who gave her her first big record deal, Lil Wayne. “He just reminds me so much of Tunechi (Lil Wayne) so everytime I see him, I’m always like, ‘aww, my little baby,’ because he just gives me the Lil Tunechi vibe. And so because of that, I love him. And I love this f***in’ song. Shout out to our fans and all of that. We’re about to give you a killer video.”
Some fans are already questioning Nicki Minaj’s sanity for comparing a young and new artist like Lil Uzi Vert to one of our generation’s most influential rappers and arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, Lil Wayne. They do share some similarities in that Weezy often refers to himself as a rockstar and Uzi also sees himself in that light.
This dat Nicki.?This dat UZI. ??Who’s ready for the video? – This just became my 82nd Billboard Hot 100 Entry. Thank you guys so much. #TheWayLifeGoesREMIX #Motorsport was my 81st. Barbie working but u ain’t seen nuffin yet! ??
Offset shouldn’t be jealous because he gets to sleep next to her. It’s no secret that Cardi B is a huge dancehall fan and Vybz Kartel represents the pinnacle of the genre so it’s no surprise either that he is her favorite artist. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for a song with Rvssian and reggaeton artist Ozuna. There are already rumors of a collaboration with Vybz Kartel in the works and that was likely orchestrated by Rvssian.
Cardi B posted a screenshot of a post Vybz Kartel made on Instagram last month giving her a big shoutout. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. Bardi also regularly post videos of herself vibing Vybz Kartel songs.
Cardi B is the biggest success story in hip hop this year thanks to her breakout hit single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” The song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the second woman in history to top the chart with a solo record. The first female artist to achieve that success was Lauryn Hill in 1998. The former Love and Hip Hop New York star is currently working on her debut album.
Vybz Kartel continues to make his mark on dancehall six years after his incarceration. Over the last two months alone, he has released enough music to make two albums and almost all of his new singles have been hits in the dancehall space. Kartel is currently awaiting his appeal trial in February next year and he is also working on an upcoming project, due early next year.
There is no doubt that Cardi B has been having a phenomenal year in hip hop thanks to her breakout hit single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” The song has been certified platinum and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks. That resume is now paying off big for the Bronx rapper who might just score the collaboration of a lifetime.
Per her engineer, Ashby, Cardi B and Beyonce have a new collaboration and it seems like its a done deal and verses have already recorded because he posted a snippet on Instagram today. All he posted was a photo from the song file on his monitor that he was playing and you can see the writings “Cardi B n Beyonce Demo Wet.” He captioned the pic “Wow this feature is big.” While he didn’t give any additional details about the collaboration, what he posted was enough to get both Cardi B and Beyonce fans excited.
The two stars met for the first time at this year’s Made in America festival in Philadelphia. They even posed for a photo and Cardi posted in on her Instagram. “I mean, I’m surprised Beyonce liked me, ahh! I met Beyonce!” she said in an interview with the AP. The former Love and Hip Hop New York star is currently working on her debut album, due later this year. It will be dope if he gets Beyonce as a guest feature on the album.
While she hasn’t given a release date for the album, Cardi Be previously said in an interview that it could be here in November although her original plan was to drop it in October. She also previewed a song from the upcoming project in a club last week and it sounds like fire. Cardi previously worked with the likes of Offset and Kodak Black.
Last month, the Young money emcee told her fans on Twitter that she wants to work with one of the hottest young rappers out now, Lil Uzi Vert. One of her fans, Imamtay, asked her about the song last night and she responded saying that it’s been done but someone other than Uzi decides to keep it in the safe. The song is a remix of “The Way Life Goes.”
“[Nicki Minaj] what about Lil uzi vert’s song “The Way Life Goes” that u suppose to be remixing?” the fan asked, to which Minaj responded saying, “Been done!!! but apparently someone somewhere wants to hold back on putting it out right now. It’s not me & it’s not Uzi tho. Tea anyone?” While she didn’t specify who is holding the single back, fans are already concluding that label heads are the likely culprit since both artists are signed to major labels.
On another note, Nicki Minaj is getting some support from rap legend LL Cool J who offered her some word of encouragement. “Keep doing your thing. A career is a marathon full of hills valleys twists and turns. You’re just getting started the best is yet to come,” LL tweeted.

Lil Uzi Vert released “The Way Life Goes” as the second single off his new album Luv Is Rage 2. The song has been doing very well and is currently at No. 57 on Billboard Hot 100 chart and climbing. Perhaps his label wants to see how far the original song will go before releasing the remix, which makes sense because with Nicki Minaj on the remix it will likely be bigger than the original. This is the first time that Minaj and Lil Uzi Vert are working together.
Nicki Minaj is currently working on her long-awaited fourth studio album and preparing for her tour next year. She hinted on IG this week that she has some surprises coming soon.
The song is so big that it’s expected to return to the top of the chart next week and possibly the week after next. “Rockstar” ended Cardi B‘s reign on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with her mega hit single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” Post Malone celebrated the success of the single by smashing his guitar on stage while performing said track on tour. This is the first number one song for Post and 21 Savage and both of them are basking in the glory.
It’s true, hip hop is now the number one genre of music in the world and in case you have any doubt, just look at the top five songs on the chart. The top three songs are rap singles, “Rockstar,” “Bodak Yellow,” and Logic’s “1-800-273-8255.” This also marks the fifth rap single this year to top the Hot 100 chart, an achievement that is usually dominated by pop songs. So far this year we’ve seen Migos topping the chart with “Bad and Boujee” topping the chart at the start of the year and Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE” also gracing the top spot. DJ Khaled also climb to the top with his single “I’m The One.” Now Cardi B and Post Malone are battling for the top of the chart.
Post Malone was performing for his fans in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday night when he got in the rockstar mode and smash his guitar. He then tried to ordered a hundred more guitars to smash but seems they would only sell him 10. “Help @Postmates I wanna order 100 guitars to smash on tour but it’s only letting me order 10!” he wrote on Twitter. Posty once said that he likes to break stuff and this song is the perfect opportunity for him to break some guitars.
help @Postmates I wanna order 100 guitars to smash on tour but it's only letting me order 10!

Nicki Minaj accomplishments in hip hop over the last decade cannot go unnoticed, but is she the reason why female rappers are popping again.
Since breaking onto the rap scene in 2009, Nicki Minaj has dominated female rap and even won over some of the big boys in the game with whom she has collaborated with over the years including JAY-Z, Eminem, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne. At one point, she was the most heavily featured artist in the game, with every rapper on the planet wanting a verse from her. That demand for her service lead her to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 chart and now she is the female artist with the most entries on that chart in history after surpassing the great Aretha Franklin.
Achievements like those would take a lot of artists their entire career to get, but it took her a little less than a decade after Lil Wayne took a chance with her in the late 2000s after watching her rap on a DVD. During her recently cover story in XXL, Nicki Minaj opened up about her impact on hip hop culture over the years and what she said a lot of her fans will agree with her. She is among several other rappers featured on the Magazine’s 20th anniversary issue.
“My role in hip-hop has been super unique because when my first album came out, there had been so much time where there wasn’t a female rap album out that went platinum,” she said. “There wasn’t a big female rap presence right before I got in. So, my role was reintroducing the female rapper to pop culture. I don’t think we got that much credit. I think female rappers have always been dope and influential, but I think I sort of came in at a time where big business was paying attention, so I was able to capitalize off of a lot of deals and business ventures.”
Nicki Minaj is currently working on her new album which she hope will spawn her first Billboard Hot 100 number one hit and perhaps win her that long overdue Grammy award. Some fans will see her statement as a shot at Cardi B, but clearly she is speaking on female rap in general.
Watch Cardi B shaking her ass-ets while celebrating her 25th birthday on Wednesday (October 11).
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper posted a video on Instagram at midnight on Tuesday night to mark the beginning of her birthday celebration. The one-minute clip shows her shaking her ample rear while her friend yelled in the background, “If it’s your birthday make some noise.” Cardi B has a lot to be celebrating right now not just her 25th birthday. She has the number one song on the planet and she just wrapped up a well-received performance at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Cardi B’s boyfriend Offset of Migos is throwing a party in her honor sometime this week and also will be presenting her with some expensive gifts. “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” is now in its third week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the longest running female solo rapper at the top of the chart in history. Bardi also picked up three awards at last night’s BET Hip Hop Awards for Best New Artist, Hustler of the Year, and Single of the Year, which is all the more accolades for her to celebrate, she deserves all the glory she is getting now.
Cardi B is currently working on her new album, due early next year. She is also prepping her fans for her follow-up hit to “Bodak Yellow.” Last week she previewed a new single on Instagram that sounds fire, but she has decided yet if that will be her next solo single. Interestingly, Nicki Minaj is also working on her new album and with a soft rivalry going on between these two ladies, this should make for an interesting comparison when both projects arrive. Neither has given any release dates or titles for their respective projects, but we haven’t had a female rap album in a while so both projects are well overdue.
Cardi B won the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards for Best New Artist.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper has been having a great year and is currently sitting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the last two weeks. The former Love and Hip Hop New York stat attended the award ceremony at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami with her boyfriend Offset from rap group Migos. During her acceptance speech, she thanked her fans, her family, her label Atlantic and Offset for supporting her.
Cardi B got a taste of hip hop history last month when she became the first female since Lauryn Hill to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a solo single. “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” has been one of the hottest rap songs on the planet this year and Cardi B is already under pressure to prove that she is not a one hit wonder. Rap fans are already weighing in on her BET Hip Hop Awards win and they are divided. Of course you have the usual critics and then you have some who are loyal supporters, but what are those in the middle saying?
“Why is everybody on Cardi B’s nuts?” one fan wrote. “One song and she’s the best new artist? LOL. Everyone’s so happy for her just cus she’s a female. I’ve never heard any new male artist get the love she’s gotten.”
“I agree she didn’t deserve it but everybody is naming all these “rappers” that should have won but they’re just as garbage as she is so it really doesn’t matter,” another said.
Earlier this week, Cardi B teases a new single on her IG account and it sounds like it’s a worthy follow-up to “Bodak Yellow.” “Used to dance in the club right across from my school / I said dance, not fuck, don’t get it confused / Had to set the record straight, ’cause bitches love to assume,” she raps.
The Queens emcee got a piece of music history this week when she became only the second female rapper in history to have a solo Billboard Hot 100 number one song. Seems she has already celebrated the occasion and is working on her next big hit. Cardi B posted a clip on Instagram last night of herself dropping some bars from what will form her next single from her upcoming album.
This song finds Cardi B reflecting on her come up in the game from her stripper days to having the biggest song on the planet. “Used to dance in the club right across from my school / I said dance, not fuck, don’t get it confused / Had to set the record straight, ’cause bitches love to assume,” she raps. She later drop some more bars in what sounds like the hook “Get money, go hard, muthafu**in’ right / Never been a fraud in my muthafu**in’ life.”
Cardi B has been getting a lot of love this week for her achievement but most importantly for being real and humble. Success comes with haters and she also get some of that from Harlem rapper Azealia Banks who called her a “poor man’s Nicki Minaj.”
The Young Money rapper is not about to let Cardi B have all the fun on IG, so yesterday she posted a steamy photo of her ample cleavage on the Gram. The photo received almost a million likes and thousands of comments. Not surprisingly, a lot of her fans are asking where is the new album. But she already gave an update on the project, telling her fans that it will be epic.
“While we love getting boobie pics we want that album more so give us that album and stop playing around,” one fan wrote. Nicki Minaj is just as famous for her spitfire flow as for her ass-ets. She has been the leading female in hip hop over the past decade, but for the past two to three years she has been relatively quiet despite scoring a number of Billboard Hot 100 hits. She has been mostly doing guest verses for other artists while she quietly works on her next album, which will be her first since 2014.
Some hip hop fans are trolling her following Cardi B No. 1 record “Bodak Yellow.” The New York rapper created history by becoming the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill to score a number one record as a lead artist. Nicki Minaj has yet to score a number one single as a lead artist. In 2014, she scored a number two single with “Anaconda” and in 2011 she scored a number three single with “Super Bass.” Her 2012 hit “Starships” peaked at number five on the Hot 100 chart. Nevertheless, Nicki holds the record for the female with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries ever. Seems there is now a battle of two banging female emcees, lets see how this one will play out.
Last week, Dancehallhiphop.com reported that Cardi B will overthrow Taylor Swift for the top spot on Billboard this week after “Bodak Yellow” shows strong sales over the past week. The former Love and Hip Hop New York star got the news from last week and posted a video of herself dancing. That was just the beginning of the celebration because her label Atlantic Records threw her a surprise party with some of her family and friends turning up.
“Thank you everybody I am very happy and I am very honored,” she said. “Especially since my family is here you know like at first I kept asking and I keep coming to the label like why is my sh*t not playing on the radio I do not understand whats going on and then they just be like you gotta keep working hard to get the record that big record. I said am going to do it am going to give you that record… And then it was just like when it hits the Billboard, you know I don’t know how this music industry work, but then am like everybody listening to this song. If it’s not on the Billboard then it really doesn’t matter.”
Atlantic Records reps said that Cardi B is one of the hardest working rappers in the business. She was also presented with her plagues for the achievement. This week Bardi also created history when she became the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill did it in the 1990s to have a lead number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She did it even before Nicki Minaj who scored No. 2 singles as lead but never reached number one.
“THANK YOU THANK THANK YOU ,I haven’t even showered son with all the running around I loveee you all each and everybody contributed for this .Ya made it happen for me !!!!! The number 1 WAY!!” Cardi B said on IG.
Cardi’s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” is currently No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 and she is dancing all the way to the bank because the track is the number one seller on digital media over the past week. Lauryn Hill scored a Billboard Hot 100 number one single as a solo act with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” on November 14, 1998. The song lead the chart for two weeks and helped cemented Hill as one of the greatest emcees of all time.
Other female rappers have achieved number one singles since Hill, but not as a solo artist. In 2001, Lil Kim earned a number one hit as part of the single “Lady Marmalade” with Mya, Pink, and Christina Aguilera. Female rapper Shawnna gets a number one in 2003 by being a guest on Ludacris hit single “Stand Up.” Iggy Azalea gets her first number one single when “Fancy” topped the chart in 2014, but she had help from Charli XCX. That track topped the chart for seven consecutive weeks. Nicki Minaj has yet to score her first Billboard Hot 100 number one single. She has several top ten songs and is the female artists with the most entries to the chart in history.
Cardi B also creates history by becoming the first female rapper to top the chart with their debut single. While Cardi B has released mixtapes before “Bodak Yellow” becomes a mega hit, that was the first time she ever scored a Billboard hit.
Atlantic Records threw a grand party for Cardi B to celebrate the occasion and presented her with her plaque. I said am going to do it am going to give you that record.”
Nicki Minaj congratulate Cardi on her success on Twitter saying, “Congratulations to a fellow NEW YAWKA on a RECORD BREAKING achievement. Bardi, this is the only thing that matters!!! Enjoy it??? @iamcardib”
One-half of Rae Sremmurd, Slim Jxmmi, has confirmed that he is about to be a father.
The Mississippi MC made the announcement on Twitter over the weekend. “I have a child on the way,” Jxmmi tweeted. One fan trolled him using an old photo of the rapper wearing a T-Shirt with the message, “I Wear Condoms.” Seems like he wasn’t taking his own advice and now he will likely pay child support for 18 years.
Rae Sremmurd is currently working on their new album SremmLife 3, due later this year. There were some talks over the summer that the group is splitting up, but Slim Jxmmi shot down those rumors recently when he told Billboard that it’s “fake news.” His brother Swae Lee has one of the biggest singles in the world right now “Unforgettable” with French Montana. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since been certified double platinum.
The pair says that currently have over two dozen songs already recorded for the upcoming album. They are currently going through the process of narrowing down the songs for the project. They confirmed that they want to have the album ready within the next three months, which should be by the end of the year.

Fans didn’t treat Post Malone like the rockstar that he is when he stage dived at his concert over the weekend because no one caught him.
Fortunately for the “Rockstar” rapper he didn’t break any bones and continued rapping while on the floor. In the video clip below, you can see Post Malone on stage turning up in St. Louis. He then ran and stage dived into the crowd but everyone moved, absolutely no one didn’t even attempted to catch him. It was one of that moment where all you can do is say ouch and then laugh after you realize that he is okay.
Malone tweeted about it on Sunday while making fun of himself saying that he wish he had Lil Uzi Vert’s body. “Felt like jack black in school of rock tonight when i staged dived and nobody caught my fat as. wish i had lil uzi body,” he wrote. Someone who was close to the front row captured the whole thing on camera. Post Malone is currently having the time of his life with his new single “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage climbed to number two on Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. He also broke the single week Apple Music streaming record.
Perhaps this fan who was video the whole thing just got himself one of those new iPhone X with glass casing and did not want to test how drop proof it is.

Cardi B is letting her haters know that she is still winning and not a one-hit wonder.
To be fair to the New York rapper, her breakout single “Bodak Yellow” is currently at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and could very well make it to number one. If that is not winning then what else does she have to do to earn more respect. Some fans are saying that she needs another hit to prove herself. In a post on Instagram, Cardi B let the haters know that she is coming from nothing so that in itself is winning.
“Coming from nothing isn’t winning, doing everything they said I couldn’t because of my stripper past isn’t winning, taking care of my family isn’t winning, reaching the top of the billboard charts when everybody said NO isn’t winning?” she wrote. “If this ain’t winning sis you tell me what is!! I know you must be so busy and overbooked that finding the time to give me “advice” was hard!! But I talk to Christ and my mother everyday and I don’t need it!!”
Some folks then responded saying that being busy doesn’t mean that your winning, while others think that she has to prove that she is not another one-hit wonder. Are some fans being too critical of Cardi B and should give her props where its due, in particular for scoring one of the biggest rap songs this year.
