Medinsky also allowed the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine at the same time as the initialing of the agreement by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Earlier, members of the Ukrainian delegation reported that they had presented the version of the treaty on international guarantees to Ukraine to the Russian representatives. It will include, among other things, a non-bloc and non-nuclear status, Kyiv's refusal to deploy foreign bases and foreign troops.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, David Arakhamia, specified that the countries of the UN Security Council, including Russia, could become guarantors of the new system, as well as France, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Israel, Poland and Canada.

At the same time, a member of the Ukrainian delegation noted that the new system of security guarantees will not operate on the territory of the DPR, LPR and Crimea. “We also wrote in this agreement that all guarantor countries are obliged not only not to interfere with Ukraine’s intentions to join the EU, but also must help in this,” — he concluded.
