Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the honorary title “Guards” 64th separate motorized rifle brigade. The decree on this is posted on the official portal of legal information.
The document notes that the title of the Guards Brigade was awarded “for mass heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by the personnel of the brigade in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts.”
The brigade is part of the 35th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District and is located in the Khabarovsk Territory. According to KP.ru, the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade is a tactical unit of the Ground Forces and was formed on January 1, 2009 from the 882nd motorized rifle regiment of the 270th motorized rifle division.
At the end of March, Vladimir Putin awarded the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade and the 155th Separate Marine Brigade the title of Guards “for mass heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts».
The 126th separate coastal defense brigade belongs to the Black Sea Fleet. On September 1, 1939, the 126th Rifle Division was formed in the Amur Region. In 2003, on the basis of the 32nd Army Corps, the 36th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Naval Forces of Ukraine was formed.
