Putin approved political information in schools after a story about the death of a friend

News will be explained to students on Mondays

In Russian schools, it is planned to revive the political information that was practiced during the Soviet era. As the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said in the framework of Vladimir Putin’s communication with the participants of the “Russia is a Land of Opportunity” platform, from September 1, on Mondays, “Conversations about the important” will begin, during which students will be told about what “interests them” in the life of the country , region and world. “We will do everything so that our schoolchildren distinguish lies from the truth,” said Kravtsov.

Vladimir Putin spent almost two hours talking with the winners of 26 different competitions, projects and olympiads, united by the platform “Russia is a country of opportunities”, which is supervised by the Presidential Administration. We managed to discuss about a dozen different topics – from the “Norman theory” of the creation of the Russian state to the fight against fakes in schools.

The President showed genuine interest in the messages of the participants, asked about their lives, what was happening in the regions from which they came (this time the event was held in a mixed format – online and offline in the Grand Kremlin Palace), shared cases from his own life ( for example, he talked about a university friend who died due to a sports injury, and about his participation in an expedition to study whales).

A video blogger who promotes domestic tourism was asked by the president to send him a “couple of pictures”, and the owner “impeccable Bashkir fast food” – I'm going to try it.

Here, however, there was a slight misunderstanding. In the name of the culinary project Aibat Hallyar (“Aibat hallar”), the GDP first heard the words “ipad” and “freebie”, then “halal”. However, this did not affect the essence of the dialogue with the owner. The head of state said that the replacement of foreign fast food with Russian brands would lead to “improving the quality of service for our citizens.” “I am 100% sure of this,” he stressed.

According to Putin, Russian designers and clothing manufacturers will also be able to take advantage of the opening window of opportunity. One of the meeting participants said that the label “Made in Russia” should become a quality mark recognized throughout the world, and designers should develop collections based on the “national costume tradition”.

The President stressed that fashion design and cooking are special art forms. “If someone leaves our market, then the holy place is never empty. You have the opportunity to take this place,” the GDP addressed to domestic producers, promising to develop appropriate support measures.

Another interesting dialogue took place between the president and Misha from Samara, who, as his mother said, is fond of history. Since the boy had not yet reached the Romanovs, Putin asked what attracted him in the era of Rurik. It turned out – an episode of calling and a dispute about who Rurik was – a Varangian or a Slav. “I think it’s more in the middle,” the young historian shared his thoughts.

“Maybe you are right,” said VVP, unexpectedly for not young historians who are confident in the Scandinavian origin of Rurik. “There is an opinion that his mother was a Slav or his relatives were related to Novgorod.” However, even if Rurik was a Varangian and came from Scandinavia, this “does not mean at all that the Norman theory is correct,” Putin said. “He's been called! He didn't show up on his own! This means that pro-state or quasi-state structures already existed,” the president said.

Let us note that the formation of statehood is one of the most controversial issues in Russian history. Disputes between “Normanists” and “anti-Normanists” have been going on since the 19th century, periodically intensified by political ideologization.

The importance of studying history was repeatedly discussed during the meeting. As well as about the need to resist fakes.

According to Sergey Kravtsov, since the beginning of the military special operation in Ukraine, “a flurry of disinformation has hit children.” “We have already held lessons in social studies, history, what is really happening, what is the purpose of the special operation,” he said.

From September 1, informing schoolchildren about important events in the country and the world will be held on a regular basis on Mondays. “And in addition, at the beginning of the week there will be a raising of the national flag and a performance of the anthem,” Kravtsov informed. Putin supported the idea – “this is very correct and in demand.” However, everything, he said, should be “done with dignity.” “So that the procedure itself is consistent with the significance of the symbols of the state,” he stressed. Recall that in the days of the USSR, political information was regularly held in schools, at which students were told about the confrontation between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, the liberation movement in Africa, cooperation with the countries of the socialist camp and the problems of the capitalist world.
