Russian and French Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron will hold telephone conversations this week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, a correspondent reports. RBC.
“Such a conversation will take place before the end of this week, it is being prepared now,”— the press secretary said in response to a related question.
Peskov was also asked if the presidents, in addition to the situation around Ukraine, plan to discuss the possibility of holding a summit in the Normandy format.

Earlier, the AFP agency, citing a source in the Elysee Palace, reported that Macron was going to offer Putin his version of the de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine. Also, according to the agency, a meeting of political advisers of the Normandy format is to take place on January 26.
Last December, French and Ukrainian Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Zelensky, as well as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on Russia to resume work within the Normandy format.
