A man and woman have been charged with murder over the sudden death of an eight-year-old girl at a home in Toowoomba.
Police were called to the Rangeville home where the child was found dead at about 5:30pm on Saturday.
A 50-year-old Rangeville man and a 46-year-old Rangeville woman, known to the child, were taken into custody on Tuesday.
They have both been charged with one count each of murder, torture and failure to provide necessities of life.
The Toowoomba Child Protection and Investigation Unit is investigating the alleged murder, with support of the Child Trauma Unit and the Homicide Investigation Unit
The man and woman have been denied police bail and will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court this morning.
